"Happiness is a state of non-contradictory joy ... Happiness is possible only to a rational man, the man who desires nothing but rational goals, seeks nothing but rational values and finds his joy in nothing but rational actions."
Quote from Ayn Rand's in "The Virtue of Selfishness"

The Semantics of Orgasm

© (2002) by nilum.com

The following is the excursion into my research in orgasm, an essay I want to complete as soon someone tells me more about this subject. :-) So please don't take it too serious; the text should be regarded as personal opinion. If that still offends you, simply read it as pure fiction playing in a fantasy world called "civilization" at the edge of collapse. The actors are human animals who call themselves "homo sapiens sapiens", an adjective so nice, they had to use it twice. Any similarity with existing persons or organizations or nation-states is accidentally.

Robert Nozick, the libertarian and Harvard philosopher wrote in "Anarchy, State and Utopia", that the "quality of orgasm" is one of the essential variables for evaluating a person. It might be worth noting, that this is a non-fiction book!

Colin Wilson wrote about an investigator of sex crimes at the FBI, that sex crime was not about sex but about power: "When a man was experiencing his ultimate orgasm, because he was so thoroughly enjoying sex, what he was really enjoying was a feeling of power over a woman."

That matches Michio Kitahara's opinion which he expressed in "The Tragedy of Evolution - The Human Animal Confronts Modern Society" that human animals are driven by the desire to manipulate.

Colin Wilson further writes that with a lot of sex people are hoping for the promotional experience.

Norman Mailer told Colin Wilson "that what he really wanted to do was to be able to pin down the meaning content of the sexual orgasm."

Further quoting Colin Wilson "the sexual orgasm gives you that odd feeling of pushing up from reality as if you are doing a push-up."

Colin Wilson, a seemingly rich source for that topic, also writes about Rousseau, who thought that the weakening of his "reality function" as a result of autoerotic imagination explains why he finds masturbation more satisfying than "normal sex", but that Derrida would dismiss Rousseau’s assumptions due to the "fallacy of presence," where "normal sex" ought to be realler than masturbation.

an orgasm is the result of focused thinking about imaginations, where moral aspects, education and ethical values play an important role. in contrast to good friendship, which is based on ethical values, orgasm is a focused imagination based on violating exactly these values, like for example shamefacedness.

orgasms can mentally carry humans away like in a dream; can have different intensities, depending on how far one can willfully follow this dream to get farther away from reality. this is like riding the perfect wave in the ocean, which runs and runs without ever touching the shoreline, because the meaning of time is lost during sexual sensation. the notion of time helps us for orientation in practical life, but time is an illusion and we might even get closer to "real" reality when we loose the feeling for time, which might be one reason we enjoy orgasms.
